Active obligation
The loan becomes part of the customer's current exposure until it is repaid or otherwise resolved.
Stelo keeps the request flow deliberate: choose within your current limit, review the actual quote, submit the request, wait for the loan decision and receive funds only after approval.
This is the loan-level part of the journey. Your profile and effective limit are already doing their work before you reach stage one.
Only an amount and term currently supported by your eligibility should be selectable. The wider catalogue can remain visible for context.
Before you confirm, review the amount, term, applicable charges, repayment obligation and any product-specific information presented in your account.
Submitting a request is not the same as receiving funds. It moves the application into the applicable loan-level approval process.
The request can proceed to disbursement only after the relevant checks are satisfied. A declined request must not create a payment obligation or disbursement.
The lending flow is designed to send approved funds through M-Pesa rather than first placing them into a general-purpose Stelo withdrawal wallet.
The public website can explain the product structure, but the actual quote presented to the signed-in customer is what should describe that specific request.
Principal amount — the exact amount you are requesting.
Repayment term — the duration attached to the selected product.
Applicable charges — the pricing shown for that specific quote.
Total repayment obligation — what the customer is expected to repay for that loan.
Repayment date or schedule — when the obligation becomes due.
That distinction keeps the customer-facing experience accurate. An eligible product can be selectable without the website claiming that every request is guaranteed to be funded.
Eligibility controls what can be requested.
The loan request is evaluated against applicable checks.
Only an approved request proceeds to M-Pesa disbursement.
Stelo's intended lending flow keeps the customer account, the loan record and the external M-Pesa movement linked without introducing a generic withdrawal balance.
The lending record should only reflect a successful disbursement when the corresponding M-Pesa outcome is confirmed through the production integration and its callback/transaction state.
Once an approved loan is successfully disbursed, the customer should be able to understand what is outstanding and how to repay it.
The loan becomes part of the customer's current exposure until it is repaid or otherwise resolved.
Existing exposure can reduce the remaining room under the effective credit ceiling.
The customer can move into the M-Pesa repayment flow and track the result against the loan.
Repayment is where the active obligation closes and the behaviour becomes part of future profile reviews.
